The government of the United Arab Emirates is not done with improving the appearance of their largest emirate, Dubai, equipping it with the newest architectural objects that astonish the imagination with its scope and unprecedented, sometimes outlandish, luxury and wealth. This time, the Emiratis decided to hit the world with an incredible tourist super island with the largest Ferris wheel in the bargain; the biggest on the planet, in fact. The completion of such a plan will undoubtedly make it the new pearl of Dubai.
An ambitious project named Bluewaters Island will cost $1.6 billion, as stated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, who is the prime minister and vice president of the UAE, as well as the Emir of Dubai.
The island is planned to be located in the waters of the Persian Gulf near the coast of Dubai, next to the privileged quarter of the metropolis Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Planned on the territory of Bluewaters Island are venues for entertainment, as well as residential and shopping areas. There is also going to be the hotel sector, which will be represented by a modern and chic 5-star hotel.
The developer will be Meraas Holding, which received an assignment last year to build five thematic parks in the UAE in one complex. Suppliers and designers of the sightseeing round are the South Korean company Hyundai Contracting, and Starneth Engineering, which has also been involved in the construction of the London Eye.
The marvelous island will be connected to the territory of Dubai with the help of pedestrian and automobile bridges, as well as a monorail railway.
The biggest observation wheel in the world, Ain Dubai (Dubai Eye), will be placed on this magnificent island, reaching a height of 210 meters. Bluewaters Island, thanks to its huge Ferris wheel, will be awarded the title of the new pearl of the largest city in the UAE.
With a height of 210 meters, this panoramic wheel will surpass the current record holder, the High Roller, which is 167.6 meters high and located in Las Vegas, sending it to second place while third place will belong to the Singapore Flyer, which is 165 meters high.
Dubai Eye will have 48 capsules and will be able to carry up to 1400 passengers at a time, providing incredible views of Dubai Marina as well as other famous landmarks such as Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Khalifa. The base will serve as an entertainment zone, and the wheel will have an 80 meter high LED screen mounted on it which is going to serve as a unique electronic platform for film projections, commercials, and various interactive information.
Once again, Dubai takes out breath away with its extravagant plans and creative solutions to attract tourists as well as various investors to this beautiful emirate.
